Image comparison measure for digital still color cameras
نویسندگان
چکیده
A measure is developed for comparing complex scenes produced by single-chip digital color cameras. The proposed measure is based on the CIELAB color space with appropriate considerations to the sensitivity of the Human Visual System (HVS) when viewing a complex scene. For comparison purposes, the error measures proposed have been implemented using the , and the recently recommended color differences.

Demosaicking: Color Filter Array Interpolation in Single-Chip Digital Cameras
Digital cameras have become popular and many people are choosing to take their pictures with digital cameras instead of film cameras. When a digital image is recorded, the camera needs to perform a significant amount of processing to provide the user a viewable image. This processing includes white balance adjustment, gamma correction, compression and more (reference “Color Image Processing Pip...
متن کاملColor Image Processing Pipeline in Digital Still Cameras
Digital Still Color Cameras have gained significant popularity in recent years, with projected sales in the order of 44 million units by the year 2005. Such an explosive demand calls for an understanding of the processing involved and the implementation issues, bearing in mind the otherwise difficult problems these cameras solve. This article presents an overview of the image processing pipelin...
متن کاملAdaptive demosaicking
Digital still color cameras sample the visible spectrum using an array of color filters overlaid on a CCD, such that each pixel samples only one color band. The resulting mosaic of color samples is processed to produce a high-resolution color image, such that a value of a color band not sampled at a certain location is estimated from its neighbors. This is often referred to as ‘‘demosaicking.’’...
متن کاملFASTICA based denoising for single sensor Digital Cameras images
t: Digital color cameras use a single sensor equipped with a color filter array (CFA) to capture scenes in color. Since each sensor cell can record only one color value, the other two missing components at each position need to be interpolated. The color interpolation process is usually called color demosaicking (CDM). The quality of demosaicked images is degraded due to the sensor noise introd...
متن کاملNew Figure of Merit for Color Reproduction Ability of Color Imaging Devices using the Metameric Boundary Descriptor
A measure for the color reproduction ability of a color imaging device is important for comparison purposes as well as for the sensor design process. Several figures of merit which describe this ability in a single measure have been proposed in the past. All these measures have shortcomings in that their error measure is defined in a non-representative color space for human color perception, or...
